In a crossover that bridges one of Taiwan's largest cultural events with a pop culture icon, the famous Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage is teaming up with Lan Lan Cat, the undisputed king of LINE original stickers. The collaboration is for a "Baishatun Mazu x Lan Lan Cat Collectible Figure EasyCard," a must-have item for both followers of the deity and fans of the cat.
Lan Lan Cat, the chubby orange tabby known for his gluttonous, mischievous, and brutally honest personality, has captured the hearts of fans across Taiwan. For this special release, he transforms into a devout "Yong Jiao" pilgrim, sporting the classic "Yong" (bravery) battle attire worn by Mazu's followers. The round, playful design is incredibly charming and is poised to be a top collectible for the year.
The Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage was designated a National Important Intangible Cultural Asset in 2010 and was selected as one of Taiwan's "Top 100 Religious Scenes" in 2013. Mazu's palanquin, with its signature pink roof, is affectionately nicknamed the "Pink Supercar" by devotees (known as "Xiang Deng Jiao") due to its famously unpredictable and rapid pace. The pilgrimage route is never fixed, leading to numerous miraculous and touching events each year that draw tens of thousands of followers in a massive, vibrant procession.
This first-ever collaboration transforms Lan Lan Cat into a loyal pilgrim holding a "Bravery" flag, ready to follow the goddess. The "Baishatun Mazu x Lan Lan Cat Collectible Figure EasyCard" merges religious culture with a beloved original character, all while providing modern contactless payment functionality. In a special touch for collectors and believers, each EasyCard will be ritually passed over the incense burner at the Baishatun Gongtian Temple for a blessing of peace and safety before being shipped.
This collectible EasyCard is available for exclusive pre-order on the Be come true platform. The pre-order window opens at 11:00 AM on May 12th and closes on May 27th. The price is set at 590 NTD per card. The pre-order is time-limited but not quantity-limited, ensuring that all devotees and Lan Lan Cat fans can secure one during the event period.
