BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's division has announced the latest addition to its METAL ROBOT Damashii series: the "Gundam Deathscythe Hell (TV Version)" from "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing." This new figure, featuring metallic paint applications and a die-cast frame, is slated for an October 2022 release.
The XXXG-01D2 Gundam Deathscythe Hell is a heavily upgraded mobile suit, secretly developed by the Gundam engineers after recovering the severely damaged Deathscythe Gundam. Beyond enhanced spatial maneuverability for space combat, it features a distinctive "Active Cloak" on its back, resembling bat wings, which boosts both defense and stealth. Like its predecessor, it can evade radar tracking with its high-performance jamming system and launch surprise attacks using its "Twin Beam Scythe."
The "METAL ROBOT Damashii Gundam Deathscythe Hell (TV Version)" boasts an entirely new sculpt, faithfully recreating Kunio Okawara's sharp design from the TV series. It meticulously captures the mechanical and functional details of the "Active Cloak," both inside and out. Key movable frame sections, including the torso, legs, and cloak supports, are constructed from highly durable die-cast metal with electroplated finishes. The entire figure features a combination of matte, metallic, and tampo-printed markings, delivering a substantial and premium feel.
For weaponry, the distinctive "Active Cloak" can be deployed, rotated, or wrapped around the body thanks to its articulated supports. The left-arm mounted Buster Shield features deployable blades on both sides and can attach a beam effect part at its tip. The main weapon, the "Twin Beam Scythe," includes a stowed form part that can be mounted on the rear skirt armor. It also comes with straight and curved handles, along with beam effect parts for both standard and high-output states, allowing for dynamic battle poses!
