Japan's BANDAI Co., Ltd.'s GASHAPON capsule toy division is set to release a hilarious new series based on the popular variety show "Aiseki Shokudo." Titled "Chotto Mate!! Button," this capsule toy collection features six different designs, each with a suggested retail price of 500 JPY per turn, and is scheduled to launch in the second week of May 2022.
Hosted by the renowned Japanese comedy duo "Chidori," the variety program "Aiseki Shokudo" follows celebrities as they travel to various locations, introduce local sights, and share meals with residents. During the show, as the two hosts watch the footage in the studio, they frequently press a "Please Wait!!" button on their desk whenever something interesting or unexpected occurs, pausing the video to discuss and deliver their signature comedic commentary.
GASHAPON is now bringing this iconic "Chotto Mate!! Button" (ちょっと待てぃ!!ボタン) from the show to life as a capsule toy. Beyond its distinct color variations, each button plays the classic "Chotto Mate" sound effect when pressed, with some even featuring mysterious hidden lines!
