Bandai Namco Entertainment's arcade game, "Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation II," has officially announced a massive new collaboration project titled "Mobile Suit Gundam Red Tri-Stars." This ambitious crossover will unite the popular Gunpla model kit brand and the monthly "GUNDAM ACE" magazine. Further details are slated for publication in an upcoming issue of "GUNDAM ACE."
The "Red Tri-Stars"...? This new unit appears to be a deliberate homage to the Zeon's Black Tri-Stars, but with a highly unusual asymmetrical red and white color scheme rarely seen among Federation forces. Based on the currently released visuals, all three mobile suits are modified versions of the "RX-79(G) Gundam Ground Type," boasting extensive armaments and distinctive GM heads.
While official details regarding the "Red Tri-Stars'" background or story have yet to be revealed, fans will get an early look at Gunpla prototypes of these three main mobile suits at the "60th Shizuoka Hobby Show," held on May 11th. It's highly anticipated that these units will eventually become playable in "Battle Operation II," with the "Red Tri-Stars" story also slated for serialization in "GUNDAM ACE."
