2022 marks the incredible 50th anniversary for two of legendary creator Go Nagai's most iconic works: "Devilman" and "Mazinger Z." To celebrate this milestone, Japan's unique pop-culture hub, Hakaba no Garou (Gallery of Hakaba), is launching the special 【DV50】 collaboration event today, May 12th, at its Nakano, Tokyo store! Headlining the new merchandise drop are the absolutely wild "Rocket Punch Hammer" (ロケットパンチハンマー) and a matching "Rocket Punch Keychain" (ロケットパンチキーホルダー)!
The "Rocket Punch" is one of Mazinger Z's most classic and devastating attacks, launching its forearm with photonic energy rockets to smash its enemies! Its incredible destructive power comes from the nigh-indestructible Super-Alloy Z and a speed of Mach 2. Now, Japanese precision casting company Castem has forged this iconic weapon into a real-life "Rocket Punch Hammer." Made from stainless steel and measuring approximately 30cm long, the hammer's head is a perfect recreation of the Rocket Punch itself—it's seriously hardcore! The wooden handle features a special "Mazinger Z" themed sticker at the base. The marketing copy boasts that you can feel the pulse of Photonic Energy as you swing it, and that there's no nail it can't drive home!
Also crafted by Castem from stainless steel, the "Rocket Punch Keychain" meticulously recreates the look and color of the iconic attack in a compact 4cm size. It also includes a red, Mazinger-themed leather tag, making it the perfect accessory to show off on your backpack!
