BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., today announced the upcoming release of the "M.E.T.E.O.R Unit" from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" as the latest addition to their popular "Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA" Shokugan series. This item is scheduled for a September 2022 release and will be sold exclusively through Bandai's official PREMIUM BANDAI store.
The Tactical Assault Module M.E.T.E.O.R was originally conceived by the Z.A.F.T. military as a backpack system to enhance Mobile Suit flight performance, mobility, and firepower. However, with the emergence of Mobile Suits equipped with Neutron Jammer Cancellers, the project evolved. Leveraging the nearly limitless energy of nuclear engines, it became a massive armament boasting immense destructive power and mobility. The M.E.T.E.O.R Unit is equipped with High-Energy Beam Cannons, Anti-Ship Missiles, and large Beam Sabers. Normally docked externally with the Clyne Faction's mothership, the "Eternal," it can combine with nuclear-powered Mobile Suits like the Freedom Gundam and Justice Gundam when needed, unleashing devastating overkill firepower and high mobility to sweep the battlefield.
The "M.E.T.E.O.R Unit" stands as the largest item in the G-FRAME FA series to date. It measures an impressive 37 cm long in its stored state, extends to 48 cm when deployed, and reaches an astounding total length of 76 cm when equipped with its beam effect parts, delivering incredible presence!
The overall design maintains the G-FRAME FA series' aesthetic, featuring intricate armor lines and detailed sculpting. With the included dedicated display stand, it can connect and combine with the Justice Gundam, Freedom Gundam, or even any Mobile Suit from the same series. Various missile hatches across the unit feature deployment mechanisms, and the two massive Beam Sabers offer significant articulation. By swapping in specialized support parts, you can recreate both vertical and horizontal angles, allowing for dynamic poses wielding the gigantic beam swords!
