The original transforming and combining robot, "HUNTING HAWK," designed by Korean toy reviewer KOORA, garnered significant attention after its initial personal reveal. Subsequently, a collaboration was announced with MR. Jeon, the lead toy designer at Korea's GOD BRAVE STUDIO, to refine the design and produce a commercial product. Now, it has been officially confirmed that the "HUNTING HAWK" Fully Transformable GK Kit is slated for release in Winter 2022.
"HUNTING HAWK" originated as KOORA's self-designed transforming and combining robot. After being brought to life via 3D printing and featured in a transformation and combination video uploaded in late 2020, it quickly caught the eye of collectors in Japan and Korea. The design concept draws inspiration from a hawk preying on fish, resulting in two colossal beast forms, "Flame Hawk" and "Ancient Fish," which combine and transform at the moment of capture. Even in its initial iteration, the project showcased immense creativity and an outstanding transformation design, achieving a striking asymmetrical form. While there was room for improvement in its proportions and certain mechanisms, it was already a highly refined transforming robot toy.
The prototype for the commercialized version, refined by MR. Jeon, was recently unveiled. While the overall silhouette appears largely unchanged, the frame is noticeably more slender compared to the initial version, featuring more refined and logical detail sculpting, alongside enhanced articulation. The official Twitter account also released a full 44-page comic detailing the project's background lore. Fans eagerly await a more detailed introduction to its transformation and combination mechanisms in the future.
