Bandai Candy, the Shokugan division of Bandai Co., Ltd., has officially announced its 100th product for the popular assembly model series, "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT" (SMP), with the reveal of "Gaogod." The SMP line evolved from its predecessor, SUPER MINIPLA, which debuted in 2016 and was rebranded in 2021. To commemorate this significant milestone, Bandai Candy is also launching the ambitious "100 NEXT EVOLUTION" project!
This extensive project unfolds in four distinct phases. The first phase centers on the official announcement of the aforementioned "Gaogod." Furthermore, to celebrate Gaogod's release, seven highly sought-after "Super Sentai" series items previously released will be reissued. These include "Daizyujin," "Dragon Caesar," "King Brachion," "Live Robo," "Live Boxer," "Muteki Shogun," and the "Kakure Daishogun & Tsubasamaru Set."
The second phase offers a tantalizing preview of numerous SMP products currently in the planning and development stages. Fans of the classic "Brave" series can rejoice, as "Brave Express Might Gaine" is confirmed for the SMP line, with the debut model, Might Gaine, set to arrive this October. Additionally, the four SRX series original units from "Super Robot Wars Original Generation," previously teased, are now officially under development. Looking ahead, Bandai Candy promises a steady stream of new releases from "Denji Sentai Megaranger," the "Time Bokan Series," and "SSSS.DYNAZENON."
For the third phase, new additions to the "SMP ALTERNATIVE DESTINY" sub-series have been officially unveiled, with sculptor Toshihisa Miyauchi handling the prototype production. This line will introduce fresh "Choujuu Sentai Liveman" figures, boasting a distinct aesthetic that deviates from the original designs by incorporating more contemporary and trendy elements.
Finally, the project culminates with the launch of an entirely new sub-series: "SMP Kit Makes Pose." The inaugural release for this line, based on "Mega Man Battle Network," is slated for an imminent reveal.
