Following their highly anticipated Ippo Makunouchi release, high-quality figure brand ORCATOYS (オルカトイズ) is back with a new addition to their "Hajime no Ippo" series: the WBA World Middleweight Champion, "Mamoru Takamura -fighting pose-" non-scale pre-painted complete figure. This impressive release will be available in three distinct versions – Regular, Battle-Damaged, and Battle-Damaged EX – each priced at 42,900 JPY (tax included) and slated for release in December 2022.
Created by Japanese mangaka George Morikawa, the iconic boxing manga "Hajime no Ippo" (はじめの一歩) has captivated audiences for over 30 years since its serialization began in 1989. Boasting over 129 collected volumes, it's widely regarded as one of Weekly Shonen Magazine's flagship titles from the Heisei era. The story centers on Ippo Makunouchi, a timid boy often bullied, who discovers boxing at the Kamogawa Boxing Gym and strives to become a true champion through countless battles.
Mamoru Takamura (たかむら まもる), the WBA World Middleweight Champion known as the "Hawk of Japan," hails from the affluent Takamura Development family. His wild and impulsive nature frequently landed him in trouble, eventually leading to him being kicked out of his home. Under the guidance of Chairman Kamogawa, he embarked on his legendary boxing career. During his rigorous mountain training, he famously defeated a bear bare-handed, leaving him with distinctive claw scars across his chest. Takamura maintains an undefeated record since his debut and is recognized by the author as the strongest character in the entire series.
The "ORCATOYS Mamoru Takamura -fighting pose-" non-scale pre-painted complete figure stands approximately 29 cm tall and is meticulously sculpted by Tsuyoshi Takahashi. Crafted from high-quality resin, the figure captures Takamura in a dynamic fighting stance, with his exposed upper body featuring incredibly detailed muscle definition. His signature bear claw scars on his chest are faithfully recreated. His coiled posture, poised to unleash a devastating punch, combined with his iconic pompadour and fierce, powerful gaze, perfectly exudes the undisputed aura of a boxing champion! The boxing gloves, the fabric texture of his shorts, and the intricate design of his boxing shoes are all rendered with realistic paintwork, bringing this legendary fighter to life.
