Kotobukiya, the Japanese model manufacturer, is bringing back its popular "Frame Music Girl Hatsune Miku" plastic model kit, a collaboration between its "Frame Arms Girl" series and the virtual singer Hatsune Miku. This time, the kit gets a fresh twist, teaming up with MARUTTOYS' original robot "TAMOTU" for a special new release: "FRAME MUSIC GIRL Hatsune Miku [MARUTTOYS Ver.] with TAMOTU [Hatsune Ver.]," slated for a November 2022 launch.
The "FMG Hatsune Miku [MARUTTOYS Ver.]" utilizes the previously released base body kit, but reimagines her outfit with MARUTTOYS' signature "white + dark gray" color scheme, giving her a more high-tech, mechanical aesthetic. All the beloved accessories from the standard version are included: three pre-painted face parts, sleeveless arm parts in the "Hatsune Miku V4X" style, five pairs of interchangeable hands, a microphone, microphone stand, speaker drone, and a dedicated clear display base.
In a delightful reversal, the "TAMOTU [Hatsune Ver.]" sports a frame molded in Hatsune Miku's iconic teal hair color, adding an extra layer of charm to its otherwise white, rounded armor. Water-slide decals are included to recreate Miku's signature line designs, and it even comes with a tiny tie! Beyond its existing "work mode" transformation gimmick, TAMOTU can also mount speakers on its back in multiple ways, perfect for setting up dynamic concert scenes with Hatsune Miku.
