Japanese figure manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY today officially announced a brand new series, 'POP UP PARADE XL', derived from its affordable entry-level finished figure series 'POP UP PARADE'. The first product will feature "Lucy Heartfilia" from "FAIRY TAIL", with pre-orders opening on May 27th at 12:00 PM JST.
The current 'POP UP PARADE' series is an entry-level finished character figure series with a uniform price of 4,800 JPY (tax included). Each product showcases the character's charm at a height of approximately 17-18 cm, and most are released within 4 months of their announcement, making them highly suitable for customers in densely populated areas with limited indoor space and frequent moves.
The XL version, previously exhibited in February this year, has been officially named 'POP UP PARADE XL'. Its main features are completely opposite to the regular version: each product boasts a massive size of approximately 40 cm in height, more than double the size, with a uniform price of 25,000 JPY. It is expected to be released within 6 months of its announcement, catering to the needs of most Western players in sparsely populated areas with ample living space.
However, 'POP UP PARADE XL' is not simply a re-release of enlarged past POP UP PARADE products. As seen from the currently revealed first product, Lucy, and most prototypes previously exhibited, while the characters adopt the same poses, the hair, expressions, clothing, and almost the entire body sculpt have been newly crafted to maintain proportional balance at the 40 cm size and showcase richer detailed sculpting.
In addition, the new mid-sized series 'POP UP PARADE L' will also announce its first wave of product information on May 27th.
