GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable painted finished product series, "POP UP PARADE," released in Japan, has previously featured popular characters from "Jujutsu Kaisen," including "Yuji Itadori," "Megumi Fushiguro," "Nobara Kugisaki," and "Satoru Gojo." Now, the latest entry, the "POP UP PARADE Sukuna" PVC figure, is also set to appear! With a suggested retail price of 4,800 JPY, it is scheduled for release in September 2022!
Ryomen Sukuna, an extraordinary being with two faces and four elbows, is recorded in the Nihon Shoki as appearing in the Hida region. In the present-day Gifu Prefecture, he is legendary as an incarnation of the Bodhisattva Kannon, with some temples even enshrining statues of Ryomen Sukuna. However, in the "Jujutsu Kaisen" series, he is depicted as the King of Curses among special-grade cursed objects. Due to his overwhelming power, after his death, his twenty fingers were severed and sealed, scattered across Japan, and even after a thousand years, his mummified remains still possess immense cursed energy. Cruel by nature and fond of slaughter, he came to reside within Yuji Itadori after his fingers were swallowed by him.
The "POP UP PARADE Sukuna" PVC figure measures approximately 175 mm in height. It faithfully recreates Sukuna residing within Yuji Itadori's body, featuring his signature spiky hair, the emergence of facial markings, and his four eyes open, all presented in a dignified standing pose. His evil grin, coupled with his outstretched hand, seems as if he's about to unleash his demonic claws (?). The intricate details of the veins on his hand are meticulously sculpted, and the flowing waistband of his attire creates a sense of dynamism.
