European and American toy manufacturer Super7's "Super Cyborg" series will release the "Dragonzord (Dragon Caesar) Clear Ver." (Dragonzord Clear Ver.) 11-inch articulated figure from the Super Sentai "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" series. The suggested retail price is $85.00 USD, and it is expected to be released in Q3 2022!
The work featuring Dragon Caesar, "Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger," is the 16th installment in Toei's tokusatsu series "Super Sentai." It aired in Japan in 1992 and adopted the popular theme of "dinosaurs." The story describes how the "Witch Bandora" and her subordinates, who were sealed on a distant planet by guardian deities and sought to conquer the world, were accidentally unsealed. They resolve to take revenge on humanity and destroy Earth. At this time, five sleeping ancient warriors: Tyranno Ranger, Mammoth Ranger, Tricera Ranger, Tiger Ranger, and Ptera Ranger, are also awakened, forming the Zyuranger team to fight against the evil Witch Bandora.
However, what most Taiwanese people remember most vividly is likely "Power Rangers," which was introduced to Taiwan ahead of its Japanese counterpart after the American remake! After acquiring the rights to the Super Sentai series, American Saban Entertainment released its first work in 1993, "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," which was adapted from "Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger." Some changes were made to the content and settings; besides renaming Witch Bandora to "Rita Repulsa," the five Rangers were not ancient warriors but rather youths with righteous hearts. Most of the battle scenes were re-edited from the Japanese version, which is why many Japanese buildings can often be seen.
The "Super Cyborg Dragonzord Clear Ver." 11-inch articulated figure (approximately 28 cm tall) presents a retro, minimalist style. Crafted in an explosively cool clear version, it faithfully recreates its sturdy armored body and the drill tail behind it. In addition to seven points of articulation including the limbs, it also features a detachable clear chest plate, allowing display of its internal mechanical structures such as the generator, cooling system, and chest-mounted targeting system, including the sixth Ranger, the Green Ranger, piloting the Dragonzord from the head cockpit!
