Brazilian renowned statue brand Iron Studios' 1/10 scale luxury "Deluxe Art Scale" series, following works themed on the classic dinosaur film 'Jurassic Park' such as "Triceratops" and "T-Rex", will once again evoke everyone's memories with the release of the childhood nightmare "Nedry & Dilophosaurus" statue! The suggested retail price is US$449.99, and it is expected to be released from April to June 2023.
The groundbreaking film 'Jurassic Park', directed by Steven Spielberg, was released in 1993. The lifelike dinosaurs in the movie were not only stunningly realistic but also greatly increased public interest in dinosaurs, leaving many irreplaceable iconic scenes in the hearts of moviegoers to this day. Besides the mighty T-Rex, the ailing Triceratops, Velociraptors, and Brachiosaurus, there was also a smaller yet unforgettable dinosaur—the Dilophosaurus (formerly translated as 'Double-crested Lizard'). Its terrifying appearance, darting through the rain, spitting venom, and flaring its neck frill, became a childhood nightmare for many.
▼The classic scene of Dennis Nedry and the Dilophosaurus in the car
The "Deluxe Art Scale Nedry & Dilophosaurus" statue is inspired by that classic rainy scene, highly recreating the portly Dennis Nedry lying in the muddy forest, while the Dilophosaurus, with its neck frill flared and claws extended, approaches step by step... The Dilophosaurus's body patterns, teeth, and claws are all exquisitely sculpted, giving the entire piece a strong sense of biological realism (※According to current research, Dilophosaurus actually had no neck frill, no venom, and was a medium-sized carnivorous dinosaur)
Furthermore, Nedry's uniform jacket, ID badge, and the mud from his fall, along with the black venom spray, are vividly recreated; the torrential rain's runoff is depicted with transparent paint to convey a sense of movement. Details in the scene, such as the 'Jurassic Park East Dock' sign, the Barbasol shaving cream can used to transport dinosaur embryos, and Nedry's fallen glasses, are also meticulously presented! Seeing Nedry's awkward yet polite smile, we all know what happens next...
