Japanese toy company Good Smile Company's best-selling "Nendoroid" (ねんどろいど) toy series is set to release a Nendoroid toy of the main character "A2" in her short-haired version from the popular game 《NieR:Automata》, which was launched in 2017! Scheduled for release in November 2022.
《NieR:Automata》is an action RPG developed by the renowned "PlatinumGames" and published by SQUARE ENIX. It was released in 2017 on PS4 and PC platforms, and then on Xbox One the following year. Due to its exquisite character designs, layered storyline, and multiple endings, it attracted many players. The music was also outstanding, earning it the TGA award for Best Score that year.
A2 (full name "YoRHa Type A No. 2") initially appears in the original work as a mysterious character seemingly hostile to 2B and 9S. Her true identity is one of the members of the original android unit. Upon her first appearance, she had long hair, a cold personality, and preferred to act alone. Later, after the mid-point of the game, A2 inherits 2B's will and kills her, then cuts her long hair to match 2B's style, and begins to act alongside 2B's Pod.
This Nendoroid A2 Short Hair version primarily differs from the previous long-haired version in that, besides the hair, the body armor has been removed, and the overall outfit has become a two-piece style. For expressions, there are three interchangeable face plates: "Standard Face," "Combat Face," and a "Melancholy Face" that expresses her thoughts for her comrades. For weapons, "Beastlord" and "Type-3 Fists" can be interchanged.
