American toy manufacturer SUPER7, under its Toho-themed "ULTIMATES!" articulated figure series, will release new products from the second wave of Toho monster movies: "Godzilla 1995 (Burning Godzilla)" and "Mechagodzilla". The suggested retail price for the set is US$170, with an estimated shipping date in Q3 2023.
'Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (ゴジラvsメカゴジラ)' is the 20th film in the Godzilla series, released in 1993. In response to Godzilla's attacks, the United Nations established the Godzilla Special Forces "G-FORCE". By analyzing the sunken Mecha-King Ghidorah, they technologically created Weapon No. 1, "Garuda", and built the ultimate weapon against Godzilla, "Mechagodzilla". In the later part of the story, to improve Mechagodzilla's weaknesses of slow movement and insufficient mobility, it combined with Garuda, becoming Super Mechagodzilla, with its firepower doubled and enhanced!
This "Toho ULTIMATES! Wave 2" set is the second series following Biollante. It features Mechagodzilla from the 1993 film 'Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla', standing approximately 23 cm tall. It faithfully recreates the intricate mechanical structure and armor design, finished with metallic paintwork that gives the mecha a hard, steel-like texture. It comes with three interchangeable head parts: a standard head, a roaring expression, and a flying head, along with interchangeable flying hand gestures and thruster jet effect parts. Combined with Garuda's equipment such as the forearm taser, it can recreate the imposing appearance of Super Mechagodzilla!
