Following the release of popular items like the "EVANGELION Unit-01," "EVANGELION Unit-02," and "EVANGELION Unit-00' (Kai)" from "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition" under its new robot alloy action figure series "ROBO-DOU (ロボ道)," the renowned Hong Kong-based collectible toy brand threezero has once again announced a new product: the "EVANGELION Unit-03," slated for release in Q1 2023!
Launched in 2019, threezero's "ROBO-DOU" alloy action figure series focuses on Japanese anime robots, combining composite materials such as die-cast zinc alloy, ABS, and POM to create a new generation of lightweight, proportionally accurate robot characters. Its precise mechanical design, meticulous paint application, and high articulation not only elevate the collectible quality but also enhance the tactile experience during play, aiming to redefine robot action figures.
The "ROBO-DOU EVANGELION Unit-03" meticulously recreates Unit-03's appearance from "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition." Standing approximately 25 cm (9.8 inches) tall, its main body is constructed from die-cast zinc alloy, featuring 48 points of articulation throughout, offering outstanding poseability. Furthermore, threezero's signature precise paint application techniques are utilized to reproduce Unit-03's various colors and mechanical details. It includes an internal entry plug opening mechanism, an umbilical cable that can be connected to Unit-03's back plug, and other designs that significantly enhance playability!
To recreate the grotesque form after being infected by the 9th Angel in the film, the accessories include a pair of extended arms that can be interchanged with the standard arms; another pair of infected arms can be swapped with the shoulder restraints! Additionally, it comes with interchangeable entry plug parts for both inserted and extracted modes, infection effect accessories, and a damaged entry plug that can be paired with the ROBO-DOU EVANGELION Unit-01 to recreate the shocking scene where Unit-01 crushes Unit-03's entry plug in the series!
