Oniri Creations, a French brand renowned for producing anime and movie statues, following their Grendizer release, will launch their second new release based on Go Nagai's Mazinger series, "UFO Robot Grendizer": the "Duke Fleed" 1/6 scale statue. Limited to 555 pieces worldwide, it has a suggested retail price of 415.83 € and is expected to ship in Q3 2023.
UFO Robot Grendizer (UFOロボ グレンダイザー), which holds an important position in the history of Japanese robot anime, is the third work in the "Mazinger series" jointly planned by Japanese manga artist Go Nagai and Toei Animation Co. It tells the story of the protagonist, Duke Fleed (old Taiwanese translation: Li Hongzhi), who conceals his identity as Prince of Planet Fleed (フリード). After his home planet was destroyed by an attack from the Vegan Empire's allied forces, he fled to Earth, initially intending to live out his life in seclusion. However, the enemies also invaded Earth! Encouraged by Koji Kabuto and the research institute director, Duke Fleed decides to confront his inner trauma and once again pilots his exclusive machine, "Grendizer," to face the enemies...!
The Oniri Creations "Duke Fleed" 1/6 scale statue measures approximately 35 cm in height, recreating Duke Fleed's appearance in his Fleedian battle suit after transformation. The overall color scheme is predominantly red and black, tightly enveloping his powerful physique and revealing the sculpted lines of his chest, abdominal muscles, and other strong musculature. In addition to realistic shadow painting, metallic colors are used to accent areas such as the helmet and belt decorations, enhancing the overall texture. It also includes a replaceable arm holding a laser gun, allowing for two different standing poses. Not only can Duke Fleed's dashing eyes be seen through the helmet's visor, but there's also a replaceable unmasked head sculpt (unrevealed during supervision)!
▼The wrinkles on the buttocks are the perfect finishing touch!!
▼The grass details on the base are also realistically rendered.
