LEGO's Ideas series officially announced its latest creation yesterday (15th) evening: the "21334 Jazz Quartet", designed by Taiwanese LEGO fan "LEGO7" (樂高七號), which garnered 10,000 votes on the LEGO Ideas platform and has now been officially commercialized! It is expected to be released on July 1, 2022.
This set comprises a total of 1606 pieces, featuring four musicians and a performance stage. From left to right, they are playing the piano, trumpet, double bass, and jazz drums. Compared to LEGO7's original design, the biggest change is that the pianist has been replaced by a female character, dressed in a vibrant yellow gown to enrich the overall color palette. Other performers have had their designs subtly refined, and the drummer and cellist's joints have been changed to ball joints. The base, originally dark brown, has been replaced with brighter sand-colored bricks. Nevertheless, the overall set still retains the essence and unique characteristics of the original design.
▼ The female pianist, officially modified and commercialized this time! LEGO7 also stated that he had the idea of including a female character when he originally submitted the design, but had to abandon it due to time and parts shortages. This modification in the final product can be seen as fulfilling his original regret.
▼ It's truly amazing how various types of bricks can be used to depict different facial contours within a 2×2 mini-size! It's worth noting that if you look at each performer separately, you'll find that this Jazz Quartet is assembled by treating each minifigure, instrument, and the stage as individual units, which are then connected after being completed.
