The highly anticipated animated film "Lightyear" finally premiered today (17th)! Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys has also released its latest product from the film: the "Buzz Lightyear" 1/6th scale collectible figure! Both a regular version and a deluxe version will be released simultaneously, and this article will focus on the product information for the regular version.
The 2022 animated film "Lightyear," directed by Angus MacLane, tells the origin story of the character who inspired the "Buzz Lightyear" toy. This film is set as a spin-off of the "Toy Story" film series, featuring a different worldview. Buzz Lightyear is voiced by Chris Evans, portraying a younger Buzz and allowing audiences to glimpse his experiences as a Space Ranger.
This figure stands approximately 29.5 cm tall and features 30 points of articulation. It meticulously recreates the Space Ranger Alpha suit from the film, predominantly white, green, and purple, with extensive and realistic weathering and abrasions applied to the surface and armor seams, as if it has truly endured countless interstellar adventures. In addition to the buttons, name tag, and Space Ranger emblem on the chest, the left forearm armor can be opened to recreate the classic "Buzz Lightyear's Mission Log" scene. The head sculpt features rolling eyeballs, and combined with a smiling expression, it can portray a variety of situations.
Accessories include a laser blaster that can be attached to the right forearm, a laser pistol that can be magnetically attached to the leg, a knife that can be equipped on the back, handcuffs, and multiple interchangeable hands.
