Aside from the rather expensive "LEGO 10276 COLOSSEUM," there haven't been any recent sets that have truly excited me. However, due to the Colosseum's high price and the significant space required for display, I've been hesitant to purchase it.
That changed this year with the announcement of the "LEGO 21058 Great Pyramid of Giza," released on August 1, 2022, and even going on sale early on June 1. The author was fortunate enough to acquire a set, so let us now guide you through an unboxing of this legendary wonder of the world, the "Great Pyramid of Giza"!
This Great Pyramid of Giza set primarily consists of the main pyramid body, two smaller pyramids, three sphinxes, a tall tower, and small residential houses. It also incorporates a scene of the Nile River, giving it a more prosperous feel.
With a total of 1476 LEGO pieces, the assembled size, including the baseplate, is approximately a 35 by 35 cm square, with a height of about 20 cm. It's a relaxing LEGO build perfect for a leisurely afternoon, not requiring a huge amount of time to complete. Furthermore, its 35x35 cm size allows it to fit on most shelves or in deeper bookcases, significantly enhancing its display versatility.
The city where ancient Egyptians lived, with many oases and trees growing alongside the Nile River. The houses are composed of three different forms, creating a miniature city.

From another angle, looking at the entire Nile riverbank, there's an entrance in the middle with a human-shaped statue standing there.
The Nile River is filled with a baseplate made of various colored LEGO bricks, making the entire river appear rich and abundant, bringing ample water resources to irrigate the surrounding environment of the city.
On the other side of the city are the sphinxes and two smaller pyramids. These smaller pyramids hold a surprise inside.
Inside, there are sarcophagi, fully showcasing the function of the pyramids.
Next, let's unbox the main pyramid body. Its special design allows the outer shell of the pyramid to be opened.
Once opened, you can see the construction process of the pyramid, with a layered stacking effect that feels quite realistic.
The tools for transport and gold blocks are also recreated in this set, though the rope pulling the gold blocks can easily come off when opening the pyramid's outer shell.
Finally, let's look at its rear exterior. This set adopts a cross-section design, allowing us to directly see the details of the pyramid's internal passages from the back. The level of detail restoration is quite high, recreating every burial chamber.
The main burial chamber also houses the pharaoh's sarcophagus. The construction itself involves various building techniques, proving that assembling LEGO isn't just about enjoying the final result; the building process itself is an experience of discovering surprises.
