Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division announced today at its online new product announcement event 'HOBBY NEXT PHASE 2022 SUMMER' that the latest product, "HG 1/144 Beguir-Beu," appearing in the prequel of the newest Gundam series, "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," is scheduled for release in August 2022.
The story of the newest Gundam series, "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," is set in A.S. (Ad Stella) 122, an era when numerous corporations have expanded into space and built vast economic spheres. The protagonist is a girl named Suletta Mercury. She transfers from the frontier region of Mercury to Asticassia School of Technology, operated by the Benerit Group, a leading company in the mobile suit industry. With a pure and innocent heart shining with a crimson light, the girl will step by step enter a new world. Hiroshi Kobayashi will serve as director, and Ichiro Okouchi will be responsible for the series composition and screenplay. It is scheduled to begin broadcasting in Japan starting October 2022, and the story's prequel, "PROLOGUE," was also released in advance on July 14.

The mobile suit "Beguir-Beu," active in the prequel, is scheduled for release in August this year as an HG 1/144 scale model kit. This mobile suit belongs to the Mobile Suit Development Council and is a high-performance unit piloted by Kenanji Avery of the special forces unit "Dominicus." The kit uses clear parts to recreate the head's cross and the shields on the shoulders, chest, and thighs, allowing for a significant reproduction of its in-show appearance even with a straight build. The sword-type armaments on both arms and the deployable claw mechanism on the feet can be recreated by swapping parts. In addition to deploying the flight unit, the backpack also includes a metallic wire to pose the spherical anti-Gundam device in its deployed state.
