During today's online new product announcement event "HOBBY NEXT PHASE 2022 SUMMER" held by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division, the latest model kit product "SDW HEROES Sun Quan Astray Gundam Honoo Shōko" from "SD Gundam World Heroes The Legend of Dragon Knight" was announced, scheduled for release in November 2022.
Sun Quan Astray Gundam Honoo Shōko is Sun Quan's enhanced form, achieved after undergoing warrior training. Its prototype is derived from the "Gundam Astray Red Dragon," an enhanced version of the Gundam Astray Red Frame from the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray" series, inheriting features such as the massive beam antenna on its head and multiple sword-type armaments mounted on its back.
The "SDW HEROES Sun Quan Astray Gundam Honoo Shōko" utilizes a large number of gold and clear red parts to recreate its complex and substantial design. However, judging from the part separation, a significant number of color-correcting stickers will still be required to fully reproduce its in-anime appearance. The most distinctive feature of this form is the inclusion of up to 6 sword-type armaments across its body, which, like the prototype's "Retsurai Ken," can transform and combine to form various shapes such as a large cannon, a greatsword, a long spear, and more.
