Remembering the Elbow Combo and Emerald Flowsion! The Japanese toy brand "16 directions" (Japanese: ジュウロクホウイ, meaning "16 directions," commonly abbreviated as 16d), which has released numerous soft vinyl figures of professional wrestlers, is about to launch a new product. The late legendary Japanese professional wrestler Mitsuharu Misawa (三沢光晴) is scheduled for release in October 2022.
For fans of Japanese professional wrestling, Mitsuharu Misawa's fighting spirit in the ring remains vivid, as if it were just yesterday. In the blink of an eye, it has been over 10 years since Misawa passed away, and his sudden departure, after dedicating his entire life to wrestling, still leaves wrestling fans with immense sorrow. From his beginnings as Tiger Mask II, to shedding the mask and forging his own path, then founding NOAH and becoming its president, he always worked incredibly hard. His battles with formidable opponents like Kenta Kobashi and Jun Akiyama were all spectacular. His signature moves, such as the elbow strike (which could be executed in various ways), the Tiger Driver, the Tiger Suplex '91, and the Emerald Flowsion (a single-leg fallaway slam), are all deeply missed by wrestling fans.
This Mitsuharu Misawa figure, released by 16d, features his most recognizable green long pants. The pose is based on his frequently used elbow strike, making it look as if he's preparing to deliver a powerful blow to his opponent. It is incredibly vivid and dynamic. Wrestling fans who admire Mitsuharu Misawa can consider collecting this as a tribute to him.
