CAPCOM Co., Ltd. of Japan, in collaboration with renowned monster sculptors, recently announced the latest product in the 'Monster Hunter' statue series, 'CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER Creator's Model,' featuring 'Malzeno,' with an anticipated release in December 2022.
Malzeno is an Elder Dragon monster that appears in the latest installment of the series, 'Monster Hunter Rise: SUNBREAK.' In contrast to the monsters in 'Rise' that were based on Japanese yokai, Malzeno's design is inspired by the 'vampires' of ancient European legends. Its silvery-white carapace exudes nobility, and its massive wings resemble a vampire's crimson cape. Its elegant form lurks in the darkness, waiting for an opportunity to strike, ambushing prey from behind to drain their life force as sustenance. Once it has absorbed enough life force, its ferocious true nature is revealed.
The 'CFB Creator's Model Malzeno' is sculpted by renowned monster sculptor Keita Okada. Measuring approximately 24 cm in height and 32 cm in width, it captures Malzeno's elegant posture as it stands atop a rock formation. The sculpture meticulously renders the biological, rough texture of its silvery-white carapace, the delicate colors and patterns on its soft wing membranes, and its head, which seems to reveal a fierce crimson glow from within a skull. Is the rock base an ancient castle wall covered in moss? I see something resembling a Garangolm, which showcases the style of the new hunting area, 'Citadel Forlorn.'
