From novelty items and realistic creatures to collaborations with various sculptors, the Japanese toy brand SO-TA (full name: State of the Art), which boasts a wide range of product themes, is partnering with the Japanese art unit "Gendai Bijutsu Nitouhei" (Modern Art Private Second Class) for their "Museum Modeling Club" series. Following the release of the "1/35 Scale Human Skeleton," they are set to launch the sequel, "Museum Modeling Club Part 2: 1/35 Scale Archelon Skeleton" gashapon, in October 2022.
The Archelon is one of the largest turtles in history, with an average body length of 4.1 meters. This "Archelon Skeleton" gashapon, supervised by "Fujiwara Katsuhito," a sculptor from Gendai Bijutsu Nitouhei, is rendered in 1/35 scale, three-dimensionalized at a highly impactful 11.5 cm for a gashapon toy. In addition to fully recreating the carapace structure, the head, phalanges, and tail are also intricately sculpted. What's even more impressive is the realistic depiction of cracks and protrusions on the bones! It will be available in four styles: Dry Brush Weathering (ドライブラシ), Luminous, Ivory (アイボリー), and Brown (ブラウン). You can display them with a base, or occasionally hold them in your hand to admire and play with – absolutely awesome!
