Japanese toy company Kotobukiya's pre-painted finished product brand "ARTFX" will release the "Joker THE KILLING JOKE / The Worst Day" 1/6 scale figure, based on the classic DC comic "Batman: The Killing Joke"! The suggested retail price is 19,800 JPY, with an estimated release in December 2022!
Hailed as the most classic Joker origin story, "Batman: The Killing Joke", written by American comic master Alan Moore and illustrated by Brian Bolland, tells the origin story of the Joker's descent into madness: a comedian, suffering the double blow of his wife's death and falling into a chemical vat that disfigured him, experiences a mental breakdown and transforms into the dark, deranged criminal known as "The Joker".
In this work, the Joker proposes the idea that "all it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy". He believes everyone is the same, and Batman is just another madman. This work is considered one of the most influential on subsequent Batman comics and films.
The "ARTFX Joker THE KILLING JOKE / The Worst Day" 1/6 scale figure, standing approximately 30 cm tall, brings to life the classic scene where, after falling into the chemical vat, the Joker sees his grotesque reflection in the water—pale skin, red lips, green hair—and instantly suffers a mental breakdown, laughing uncontrollably, thus becoming the Joker! Based on the recolored cover poster from the 20th-anniversary edition of "Batman: The Killing Joke", the figure depicts the Joker clutching his head in despair. His ferocious gaze and twisted, unsettling smile are vividly sculpted. The base is designed as a wet, muddy ground, with ripples in the puddles evoking the sorrowful heavy rain, fully capturing the world of the story.
