BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division of Japan today officially announced the new product "HG 1/144 Mobile Suit Gundam Red Tri-Stars Team Set", a collaboration with the arcade game "Mobile Suit Gundam: Bonds of the Battlefield II" and the monthly "GUNDAM ACE" magazine, scheduled for release in September 2022.
The 3-unit team, the Red Tri-Stars, originates from the large-scale collaborative project "Mobile Suit Gundam: Red Tri-Stars". Their mobile suits feature a rare red and white color scheme for the Earth Federation. The three units consist of the heavy-firepower commander unit RX-79[G]RR Gundam RR, modified from the Ground Type Gundam, and two close-combat equipped units, the RX-79[G]RR GM RR, modified from the Ground Type GM. Their armaments are incredibly powerful.
・RX-79[G]RR Gundam RR
Modified from previously released Ground Type Gundam kits, its head features newly sculpted parts. The orange clear visor has an opening/closing mechanism, revealing the internal Gundam face. Its armaments include a short shield, a twin rocket launcher on the left shoulder, and the newly produced dedicated weapon, the "Gatling Rocket Launcher".
・RX-79[G]RR GM RR Heat Lance Equipped Type
Modified from previously released Ground Type GM kits, its head features newly sculpted parts. The electromagnetic acceleration unit mounted on its left arm can instantly heat and launch two iron lances. Accessories include two types of iron lances, one in normal state and one in heated state, with clear parts reproducing the scorching hot appearance.
・RX-79[G]RR GM RR Metal Claw Equipped Type
Modified from previously released Ground Type GM kits, its head features newly sculpted parts. The metal claw equipment mounted on its left arm is modified from a short shield. The base of the metal claw is retractable, and its three claws feature articulated joints.
The kit also includes a large array of standard weapons used by the Ground Type Gundam and Ground Type GM, such as beam rifles, beam sabers, missile launchers, 180mm cannons, 100mm machine guns, and more, allowing for various customization options for the Red Tri-Stars. Additionally, the accessories will include a serial code for in-game items usable in "Mobile Suit Gundam: Bonds of the Battlefield II".
