BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., recently announced the release of a new product from its assembly model kit Shokugan 'MINIPLA' series: "Avataro Gattai Series 01 DON Onitaijin," based on the latest Super Sentai series, Avataro Sentai Donbrothers, scheduled for July 2022.
DON Onitaijin is a giant robot formed by the transformation and combination of five Robotaro machines, each piloted by one of the five Avataro Sentai warriors. Its appearance resembles a Japanese armored warrior wielding dual swords. As the "first robot" to debut latest in Sentai history, DON Onitaijin's design has garnered considerable praise, living up to expectations. The main reason for this acclaim is the decision to use full CG production in the show, rather than actors in suits, allowing DON Onitaijin to be depicted with the modern, popular tall and slender proportions. The DX toy version, released in May this year, faithfully reproduced its cool design, successfully generating buzz and becoming extremely popular.
The "MINIPLA Avataro Gattai Series 01 DON Onitaijin" is suitable for children aged three and above, and can be safely assembled without the need for any tools. The product includes 6 types: Don Robotaro is split into two boxes, while Saru, Oni, Inu, and Kiji Robotaro can each be completed with a single box. Each of the five Robotaro machines can be played with individually and possesses a certain degree of articulation. However, the main highlight is collecting all five to combine them into the approximately 15 cm tall DON Onitaijin, allowing you to recreate its cool dual-wielding sword poses!
