Refreshed Colors, New Lightsaber Effect: "figma SSSS.GRIDMAN Gridman (Primal Fighter)" Scheduled for Release Next January!

Following the 2019 release of "figma Gridman," Japanese model manufacturer Max Factory's popular action figure series "figma" has today announced its latest product from "SSSS.GRIDMAN," "Gridman (Primal Fighter)," scheduled for release in January 2022.

The Hyper Agent Gridman, who appeared in the anime version of "SSSS.GRIDMAN," was designed by Tsuburaya designer Masayuki Gotoh. His new form combines elements of the tokusatsu version with modern popular trends, though both versions feature the same Gridman. He is an energy being, a "Hyper Agent," existing within computers. After being attacked upon arriving in the computer world of Tsutsujidai, he lost his memory and took residence within the protagonist, Yuta Hibiki. Yuta Hibiki must merge with Gridman via the transformation device "PRIMAL ACCEPTOR" to materialize and fight against monsters.

The "figma Gridman (Primal Fighter)" largely reuses the sculpt designed by sculptor Ryu Sakano for the 2019 initial release, featuring a proportionally smaller head and larger shoulders. Coupled with flexible articulation throughout the body, it allows for highly dynamic action poses. However, the molded colors have been changed to a more lustrous metallic silver, metallic blue, red, and so on. Compared to the initial release, which used matte colors closer to the anime's palette, this new version boasts a more realistic and substantial texture.

For accessories, it also includes the "GRIDMAN CALIBUR" Electric Great Slasher, with an interchangeable, larger special blade tip to recreate the sword-wielding hero stance seen in episode two. Furthermore, a new lightsaber effect part that extends from the left arm has been added, allowing for the recreation of the "Grid Light Saber Slash" attack pose!
