The extra-large Fairy Queen makes her debut! Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable PVC painted finished product series, "POP UP PARADE", will release an XL version PVC figure of one of the important female characters from the famous anime and manga series "FAIRY TAIL", "Erza Scarlet" (エルザ・スカーレット)! It is scheduled for release in January 2023.
"FAIRY TAIL" (also translated as "Fairy Tail") was created by Japanese manga artist Hiro Mashima, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" in 2006, with an anime adaptation released in 2009, and later theatrical films. The story is set in a place called "Earth Land", located in the Kingdom of Fiore, where there is a wizard guild called "Fairy Tail", home to many powerful mages. The female protagonist, Lucy Heartfilia, hopes to join it. Guided by the protagonist Natsu Dragneel and Happy, she finally achieves her wish and meets many powerful mages, and the group embarks on an adventurous journey by taking on missions together.
Erza Scarlet can be considered the secondary female protagonist in this work, possessing formidable strength and a competitive spirit that rivals men. She is an S-class mage, known as the "Fairy Queen". Her magic is "Requip", a standard magic for close-combat mages, which allows her to summon various weapons and armor from a magical subspace. Erza not only avoids the weakness of gaps during requipping through her extremely fast speed but can also choose the most suitable armor for the battle situation. This versatile characteristic gives her powerful combat ability, allowing her to face any situation unflinchingly and take on a hundred opponents alone.
This XL version of Erza Scarlet, released by POP UP PARADE, is based on the previously released regular version's knight design, with some modifications and an enlarged size. A comparison of the two shows that while the basic pose is the same, the XL version has been completely re-sculpted in areas such as the hair, armor patterns, skirt armor and skirt styles, boot styles, and facial details. It is by no means a simple enlargement. Friends who like large-scale figures might want to check it out.
