French sculpting brand Oniri Creations, primarily known for producing statues of Japanese anime and manga works, following the release of Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez and Ichigo Kurosaki's First Bankai from BLEACH, has once again unveiled its third new product: the Captain of the 6th Division of the Gotei 13, Kuchiki Byakuya, makes a grand appearance! Scheduled for release in Q4 2023.
This statue, depicting Kuchiki Byakuya unleashing his "Bankai: Senbonzakura Kageyoshi," stands approximately 52 cm tall. It recreates the moment Byakuya lowers his Zanpakuto, with countless blade fragments behind him beginning to transform into scattering cherry blossoms from their tips. Byakuya's main body meticulously reproduces the Gotei 13's black and white "Shinigami uniform," along with his white headpiece "Kenseikan" and neck scarf "Ginpakukazahane." From the dynamic sculpting of his flowing Captain's haori and the crisp folds of his wide trousers, to the ripples created by his Zanpakuto on the water's surface... every detail is rendered with exceptional sculpting prowess.
Another major highlight of this piece is the massive blades behind Byakuya. The gradient color expression from the metallic blades to the cherry blossom petals, and the capture of their transforming shapes, are incredibly detailed. Coupled with the cherry blossoms cleverly attached to Byakuya's main body, creating a falling visual effect, and the 6th Division emblem on the base, it fully conveys the world of BLEACH and the unique characteristics of Senbonzakura Kageyoshi.
