BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's toy division in Japan today announced that the latest product from the 'Super Mashin Hero Wataru' series, 'Phoenix Ryujinmaru,' will be released in December 2022 as part of the 'NXEDGE STYLE' action figure line, known for its sharp sculpting and compact proportions.
In this series, the Mashin 'Ryujinmaru,' who fights alongside protagonist Wataru Ikusabe, can undergo a Super Power Transformation using powers granted by the Holy Gods. Phoenix Ryujinmaru is formed by transforming with the power of the Holy God of the Second World, 'Flame Phoenix.' Its appearance resembles a phoenix rising from the ashes, equipped with the Phoenix Tōryūken, Phoenix Shield, and flight-capable wings. It can unleash various flame techniques and can even combine its sword, shield, and wings into a phoenix-like form to perform its ultimate attack, the 'Phoenix Fire Dragon Sword,' charging towards enemies.
The 'NXEDGE STYLE Phoenix Ryujinmaru' utilizes articulation technology cultivated from the ROBOT SPIRITS series, faithfully recreating Ryujinmaru's design with the line's characteristic sharp sculpting and compact proportions. The main body is primarily constructed from red and orange parts, while areas such as the forehead, shoulders, chest, and the blade of the Tōryūken are adorned with various metallic colors, conveying a sense of substantial quality. For articulation, the shoulders feature a pull-out mechanism to allow for two-handed sword-wielding poses, and the lowest sections of the wings can be slightly expanded. Furthermore, the sword, shield, and wings can combine just like in the original work, recreating the scene where the ultimate attack 'Phoenix Fire Dragon Sword' is unleashed!
