BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division of Japan has officially announced today the full details for the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," the "HG 1/144 Gundam Aerial," from the 'HG (High Grade)' series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, which boasts the most diverse range of mobile suits. It is scheduled for release on October 1, 2022.
The highly anticipated brand-new anime, "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," is set to premiere in October 2022. The protagonist mobile suit of this series, the Gundam Aerial, is a GUND-ARM type mobile suit piloted by the female protagonist from Mercury, Suletta Mercury. Its appearance resembles the "Gundam Lfrith" developed by the Vanadis Institute in the prequel. In addition to beam sabers and beam rifles, it also utilizes GUND Format technology, allowing its shield to separate into 11 GUND-BITs for use as funnels.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Aerial" is produced with Bandai's latest multi-color molding and part separation technologies, faithfully recreating the highly layered armor design and flexible articulation seen in the series. The chest's glowing effect can be achieved by replacing IMD (In-Mold Decoration) molded parts, while the glowing areas on the forehead and thighs are represented by applying printed stickers onto clear parts.
Regarding its armaments, both the beam rifle and beam saber hilts can be equipped with dedicated beam effects. The shield can be disassembled into 11 GUND-BITs, which can be attached to the shoulders and lower back for use as thrusters, and can also recreate the funnel attacks controlled via the GUND System.
