Japanese emerging soft vinyl toy brand NEO PLAYER ONE (株式会社ネオプレイヤーワン), established in 2021, has obtained authorization from Japanese publisher Shogakukan. They are scheduled to offer a limited lottery sale of the "Caiman Standard Color Version" (カイマン スタンダードカラー.ver) soft vinyl toy from "Dorohedoro" at Japan's largest model exhibition, "Wonder Festival 2022 [Summer]," on July 24, 2022!
The manga series "Dorohedoro," created by Japanese manga artist Q Hayashida, is set in two coexisting worlds: "The Hole," inhabited by ordinary people, and the world where sorcerers, creatures created by the devil Chidaruma, reside. Sorcerers, aspiring to become devils, often use humans as subjects for practicing their magic. The protagonist, Caiman, is one such victim of magic, whose head was transformed into that of a lizard and who lost his memories. To regain his human face and forgotten memories, he embarks on a sorcerer hunt with his companion Nikaido.
This soft vinyl figure of Caiman, rendered in 3D with a Q-version (chibi) physique, is designed based on his lizard-headed appearance. It meticulously recreates his dark blue top and green trousers, along with character features such as his knife sheath, the bone-like decoration on his abdomen, the leg guard on his right leg, and the bayonet in his hand. The textures and spikes on his lizard head are also incredibly detailed. In addition to the vibrant colors, there are glossy and matte finishes that add depth. Overall, it can be said that while retaining Caiman's distinctive characteristics, a cute atmosphere has been infused, making it extremely collectible!
