[Zang Dao Model] The Rampaging White Tiger Descends! CD-02 1/72 Second Release: Four Holy Beasts White Tiger Alloy Toy Unboxing and Review

Following the Azure Dragon, Zang Dao Model has launched the second release in their 1/72 scale Four Holy Beasts alloy toy series: the White Tiger.

I didn't pick up the first release, the Azure Dragon, nor did I get its successor from the re-release, the White Dragon. The main reason was that the excessive number of interchangeable hands just wasn't my cup of tea. In contrast to the Azure Dragon and White Dragon, this new White Tiger release completely captivated me.

The fully articulated five-fingered hands, the domineering appearance, and the ability to mount all equipment—leaving the box completely empty—are major draws. There's absolutely no need for extra storage for accessories. The figure's imposing presence, combined with the full equipment loadout, is the primary reason I added this to my collection.

Below is a simple unboxing and introduction. For a detailed look at the articulation, weapon mounting, and play features, please refer to the video below:

▼This box here is the star of today's review, the Four Holy Beasts White Tiger by Zang Dao Model. The picture shows the outer shipping carton. CD-02 signifies that the White Tiger is the second release in the series.

▼Opening the shipping carton reveals the actual packaging. The box art is incredibly imposing, with glowing red eyes that signal its "berserk mode" is activated. The alternate head sculpt included in the set also features corresponding glowing red eyes to match the box art.

▼The other side of the box simply features the characters for "White Tiger."

▼The top right corner displays the Zang Dao logo.

▼After opening the box, the contents are arranged in three layers of plastic packaging. There are rumors online that the overseas packaging may differ from the domestic version to reduce volume. The gaps between the trays are sealed with anti-tamper stickers.

▼This layer is for accessories:

Display Base x1, White Tiger Cannons x2, White Tiger Cannon Shields x2, Rear Skirt Armor x1, Front Skirt Armor x2, Tiger Horns x2, Waist Armor x2

▼This layer of accessories includes:

White Tiger Blades x2, Extended Mechanical Arms x2, White Tiger Tail x1, White Tiger Axe x1, Display Base Support Arm x1

I have to say, that support arm is incredibly robust. Even with the White Tiger fully armed, it can be bent and adjusted yet still securely hold the figure in place. And that White Tiger Tail can't help but remind one of... a Heat Whip... XD

▼This layer of accessories includes:

Main Body x1, Normal Version Head Sculpt x1, Berserk Mode Head Sculpt x1, Head Sculpt Display Stand x1, Gun/Cannon Mounting Parts x1, Classic Ring-Shaped Backpack x1

When I opened this layer, I was stunned to see that an ankle armor piece had fallen off. After inspection, I was relieved to find it had just detached and could be easily reassembled. This happened because the packaging mold for the ankle area was too tight, causing the armor piece to be squeezed off during packing.

▼A small accessory pack. If you're not a fan of the Heat Whip-like tail, you can use this part to cover the hole on the lower back as a substitute.

▼Full weapon and equipment display.

▼The White Tiger's normal version head sculpt. The base has a built-in light-up feature; simply mount the head and flip the switch on the bottom to make the eyes glow. Thanks to the included head sculpt display stand, you don't need to put it back in the box and can display it externally.

▼White Tiger Cannon:

This White Tiger Cannon has no articulation whatsoever. Despite the lack of movement, the paint application on the entire cannon is exceptionally well done. The cannon body features subtle layered armor details. The main color of the cannon is white, with dark blue sections accented by gold engravings.

▼White Tiger Blade

The hilt is gunmetal-colored, while the blade features a silver paint application. The blade shines brilliantly under strong light.

▼The White Tiger Blade has two points of articulation; the handguard and the upper blade can both be deployed separately.

▼The image below shows the blade in its stored mode.

▼Cannon shield in stored mode.

▼The image below shows the cannon shield in its deployed mode.

▼In its stored mode, the cannon shield can house the White Tiger Blade, turning it into another deadly weapon.

▼White Tiger Tail:

Each segment of the tail is connected by a ball joint. Every joint is firm and tight, offering a wide range of motion. The more I look at this tail, the more it resembles the Heat Whip from Tallgeese XD.

That concludes this simple unboxing and introduction. According to official product announcements, the next release is the multi-armed Zhuo Ying, which I have already pre-ordered and will share with everyone when it arrives. Additionally, official images for the female character of the Four Holy Beasts, the Vermilion Bird, have been released, and I couldn't resist pre-ordering that one as well. I'll share a review once it's here.

Next up are some simple photos to share with everyone. This figure is truly a mobile armory with incredibly high playability!
