KOTOBUKIYA, a Japanese toy company, today announced the latest product in its highly customizable model kit series, 'HEXA GEAR,' the 'Weird Tails Night Stalkers Specification,' scheduled for release in January 2023.
The Weird Tails, resembling a mythical fox, is a third-generation HEXA GEAR equipped with beast transformation technology and a form-shifting system. It features a semi-enclosed cockpit, robust state-of-the-art artificial muscles, sharp armor prioritizing offensive capabilities, and a high-power gravity control device, granting it unparalleled agility compared to other machines of its generation. Its tail is further equipped with three unmanned attack drones, 'Speared Rowers,' each possessing KARMA artificial intelligence. These can be remotely controlled for independent attacks, much like funnels, or deployed to form a 'Plasma Veil' to protect the main unit.
The 'Weird Tails Night Stalkers Specification' is a unit utilized by a select elite force. Due to its highly classified nature, its data has been erased, and its main body appears identical to the standard specification. However, the machine's paint scheme has been reversed from the original red and white to a mysterious red and black, with exposed frame parts intricately detailing the internal structure. Additionally, the product includes decals featuring the 'Night Stalkers' emblem for application.
The overall mechanical design is also identical to the standard version. The cockpit canopy on the back features an opening mechanism, and by swapping parts, it can recreate the combat-oriented 'Beast Mode' and the patrol-oriented 'Flight Bike Mode.' The three unmanned attack drones, 'Speared Rowers,' on the tail can also be detached independently, with their blade-like sections deployed to recreate various modes such as 'Plasma Veil Deployment Mode' and 'Independent Attack Mode.'
