HOBBYMAX (HOBBYMAXJapan), an emerging figure brand from Shanghai, China, after previously releasing the surprising news of its commercialization, today (19th) finally unveiled the sales information for the "Osaki Nana" 1/8 scale figure, based on the classic shojo manga 'NANA'! The suggested retail price is 21,450 JPY, with an estimated release in July 2023.
Japanese manga artist Ai Yazawa's shojo manga series 'NANA' tells the story of two girls both named Nana. The innocent and adorable Komatsu Nana (小松 奈々) and the independent and strong Osaki Nana (大崎 ナナ), despite their vastly different personalities, are unexpectedly compatible. Amidst the entanglements of love and dreams, they pursue their aspirations and romance, supporting each other. The story's diverse topics and rich themes are a cherished youthful memory for many born in the 70s and 80s. However, the series has been on hiatus since 2009 with no news of resumption, making it a prominent title on the "lifetime wait" list.
The "HOBBYMAX Osaki Nana" 1/8 scale figure stands approximately 22 cm tall (excluding the base). The overall design is based on the preview illustration from the February 2003 issue of Monthly Shojo Magazine 'Cookie', faithfully recreating Nana's cool yet sexy punk rock style. Her slender physique, cold expression, and smoky eye makeup are accurately captured, with her collarbones delicately rendered! The intricate details of the lace, belts, and studded bracelets on her body are exquisitely sculpted. In addition to the realistic texture of her clothing wrinkles, the garter fishnet stockings are made from real fabric. The roses encircling her are made of transparent material with a pearlescent finish, adding to her queenly aura.
