Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. HOBBY Division, which offers the most diverse range of mobile suit types in its 1/144 scale Gunpla 'HG (High Grade)' series, today announced product information for the latest item from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury", the "HG 1/144 Dilanza (General Type/Lauda's Custom Machine)", scheduled for release on November 05, 2022.
The Dilanza is a mass-produced mobile suit developed by Jeturk Heavy Machinery, one of the three major corporations within the Benerit Group. Despite its extremely thick and heavy exterior armor design, it is not cumbersome, as its legs are equipped with hover propulsion devices, allowing it to glide at high speeds on the ground. In the series, in addition to the general specifications, there are also specialized units such as Guel's Custom Machine, Lauda's Custom Machine, and Dilanza Sol. Among these, the custom machine of Lauda Neill, the second son of Jeturk Heavy Machinery, is equipped with a large heat axe, twin shoulder shields, and a unique communication antenna, tailored to his piloting style. However, in the series, it was unilaterally taken by his older brother, Guel Jeturk, for a duel.
The "HG 1/144 Dilanza (General Type/Lauda's Custom Machine)" kit utilizes multi-color molded parts in black, green, gray, and more, to create an armor design with a sense of weight and volume. The rear skirt armor features a rare horizontal deployment mechanism, which further expands the range of backward movement for the thighs. Inside, a set of main body parts allows for free selection to assemble either the general specification machine or Lauda's custom machine. The general type specifications include a blade-shaped head antenna, and two armaments: a beam rifle and a beam torch, as well as a square shoulder shield that can store the rifle and torch. By swapping to the curved antenna, dedicated backpack, twin round shoulder shields, and the imposing large heat axe, Lauda's custom machine can be reproduced.
