The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company has announced the latest product from the 1/144 scale Gunpla 'HG (High Grade)' series, known for its diverse range of mobile suits, the "HG 1/144 Darilbalde" from "Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury", scheduled for release on December 03, 2022.
The Darilbalde is a 5th-generation experimental mobile suit developed by Jeturk Company. While it appears to be a simple unit equipped only with a double-bladed beam javelin, it actually possesses excellent mobility and is equipped with a test version of the 5th-generation will-expansion artificial intelligence. This AI can comprehensively predict battle situations based on input combat data, automatically pilot the mobile suit, and even control new unmanned drone weapons. Parts such as the forearms, the second arms on the back, and the shields on both shoulders can fly independently, allowing for flexible offensive and defensive maneuvers.
The "HG 1/144 Darilbalde" recreates its crimson and heavily armored design using multi-color molded parts. The green-lined vents on the shoulders and thighs are expressed with a double-layered structure of stickers and clear parts, simulating an internal glowing effect. The forearms can replicate the replacement mechanism with the second arms on the back, and beam saber effects for the second arms are included. Additionally, two metal wires are provided to recreate the feet being launched as grappling claws. The impressive double-bladed beam javelin can also be separated at the center of the handle, recreating its form as two individual beam javelins.
