Kotobukiya (KOTOBUKIYA), a Japanese toy company known for its "ARTFX J" series which creates exquisite three-dimensional figures of Japanese anime and game characters, is set to release its latest product, "ARTFX J Maki Zenin" 1/8 scale figure, based on the popular anime series "Jujutsu Kaisen"! The suggested retail price is 14,000 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in February 2023.
Maki Zenin, a second-year student and senior at Tokyo Jujutsu High School, is a Grade 4 Jujutsu Sorcerer, yet possesses strength far exceeding her rank (evaluated as Grade 1), making her the strongest among students who use Cursed Tools! Born into the Zenin family, one of the Big Three Sorcerer Families, she was discriminated against for having no cursed energy and needs special glasses to see Curses. She dislikes being called by her surname. After leaving home, she strives alone towards her dream of "becoming a powerful Jujutsu Sorcerer," wanting to prove the Zenin family, who revere inherited techniques, wrong.
The "ARTFX J Maki Zenin" 1/8 scale figure stands approximately 210 mm tall. It faithfully recreates Maki's slender eyes, dark teal high ponytail, special glasses, and other distinctive features, with a dignified expression on her face. She is dynamically presented in a battle-ready stance, facing forward, holding the nunchaku-type Cursed Tool "Playful Cloud"! The chains of Playful Cloud use actual metal links, making the overall sculpt even more realistic. Although her uniform is simple and understated, the figure is sculpted with fine wrinkles and shadow paintwork that arise from her movement, creating a dynamic silhouette. The irregularly shaped clear base showcases the world of Jujutsu Kaisen.
