BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, a popular alloy toy brand from Japan, officially announced today that the highly popular GX-46 Dygenguar & Aussenseiter from "Super Robot Wars OG", which garnered immense popularity in the recent "Soul of Chogokin GX-100 Achievement Commemoration! Soul of Chogokin PREMIUM Reissue Poll", will make a renewed appearance as the "GX-46R Dygenguar & Aussenseiter" with multiple upgrades, slated for release in January 2023.
The original "GX-46 Dygenguar & Aussenseiter" released back then brought to life the two original units from "Super Robot Wars OG", Dygenguar and Aussenseiter. It perfectly reproduced the armor design, reminiscent of samurai and knight armor, and the powerful, robust physique designed by Hiroshi Ando, combining alloy material joints and heavy paintwork to convey the super robot's sense of weight. Accessories included Dygenguar's main weapon, the Sanshiki Zankantou in its Lightning Speed, Great Wheel, and Deployment forms, as well as the Guardian's Sword. Aussenseiter came with its dedicated twin guns, the Lanzen Kanone, along with shoulder shields and leg wheels. An rock-themed display base was also included to store unused accessories. Aussenseiter could even transform into its horse mode for Dygenguar to ride, recreating the cool "Blade and Horse as One" stance to unleash their combined ultimate attack, the Tornado Zankantou.
This time, the "GX-46R Dygenguar & Aussenseiter" is not merely a simple reissue; the product has undergone significant renovations across four major aspects: sculpt, articulation, accessories, and paintwork.
① Newly Sculpted Head Parts!
Dygenguar now includes a newly sculpted "gritting teeth" expression part, while Aussenseiter features a completely new head sculpt, enhancing its sharpness and better matching its in-game appearance.
② Expanded Range of Articulation!
The hip joints of both units have been significantly modified. Aussenseiter's front skirt armor has been changed to a ball joint connection, increasing the range of thigh elevation, and Dygenguar's knee joint design has been revamped to improve its bending angle. Both units can now achieve more exaggerated and dynamic poses than ever before.
③ More Substantial Accessories!
Aussenseiter's cape parts have been upgraded from the original PVC material to fabric, incorporating several bendable metal wires to allow for dynamic posing. In "Blade and Horse as One" mode, Dygenguar can also equip the cape. Furthermore, Aussenseiter's shoulder shields are now detachable and can be attached to the wrists via connector parts to recreate a throwing pose. Dygenguar also gains jet flame effects for its wrists, allowing its forearms to be detached and combined with a stand to recreate its "Dynamic Knuckle" attack.
④ Enhanced Paintwork and Color Scheme!
The red parts of the previous version have now been upgraded to metallic red paint, enhancing the unit's premium feel and sense of weight. Aussenseiter's leg wheels also feature red paintwork in the tire tread grooves, bringing them closer to the original in-game design.
