Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division recently unveiled prototype images for the latest product from "Mashin Hero Wataru," the "HG Amplified IMGN Ryujinmaru," scheduled for release on July 30, 2022. Get a sneak peek at its luxurious part molding colors and intricate separation design!
The "HG Amplified IMGN" series, similar to the previous Figure-rise Standard Amplified series, expands the interpretation of characters with an "Amplified" theme. Through exaggerated imagination, it gives them a completely different appearance from their original settings, while also incorporating the latest production techniques of the HG series and various original mechanisms. The first product in this line is "Ryujinmaru," the Mashin that fights alongside protagonist Wataru Ikusabe in "Mashin Hero Wataru." Its original approximately 3-head-tall stature has been redesigned into a realistic, Gundam-like 8-head-tall proportion.
▼ Regarding the part molding colors, both white and red parts are produced using GLOSS INJECTION molding technology. This gives the white armor a mirror-like high-gloss finish, while the red parts reveal a metallic, sparkling granular texture beneath their high-gloss surface.
▼ The gold parts feature electroplated coloring with a matte finish to reduce gloss, giving them a heavier, more metallic texture.
▼ The head and shoulders showcase the intricate part separation design pursued in this model. While the structure is refined, it fully reproduces each color. For instance, the head's eye parts use independent clear green components, and the shoulder's dragon emblem relief uses independent gold electroplated parts. Areas where previous HG series models often relied on stickers for color correction can now be accurately reproduced with just a straight build in this product.

▼ The green gem parts on the chest and waist are crafted using three-dimensional, convex "jewel stickers."
▼ The blade of the signature weapon, the "Toryuken," is made from matte electroplated parts, giving it a heavy, metallic texture. The black sections on the blade are produced using PET stickers, which are slightly thicker than standard stickers.
▼ A new original mechanism in this version allows the dragon claw parts from both shoulders to be detached and equipped on the wrists, transforming them into claw-type combat equipment.
▼ The overall articulation design is quite outstanding. The shoulder, waist, and limb joints can swing and bend extensively, allowing for the recreation of various dynamic combat poses.
▼ Particularly, the flexible arm joints allow for drawing the sword from behind and wielding it with both hands, recreating the classic scene of raising the sword high when performing the special move "Toryuken."
