International collectible manufacturer PURE ARTS recently announced their latest product from CAPCOM's popular video game "Monster Hunter World": the "Pukei-Pukei" 1/26 scale full body statue! It is expected to ship in Q3 2023.
The "Pukei-Pukei" first appeared in "Monster Hunter World" and is a Bird Wyvern monster that stores venom within its body. It uses its freely extendable, plump tongue to hunt, and possesses large eyes and a throat sac, giving it strong sensory abilities! It attacks enemies by spitting venom, sweeping its tail, and wielding its whip-like tongue, among other methods. Due to the Pukei-Pukei's Japanese name "プケプケ" (Pukepuke) sounding quite amusing, coupled with its surprisingly cute body movements, it has become one of the most popular monsters. There's even a Japanese sculptor who created Pukei-Pukei sushi for people to enjoy XD.
This piece stands approximately 44.4 cm tall, meticulously recreating the "Pukei-Pukei" standing in a rocky forest setting based on "Monster Hunter World" designs. Its vibrant head, reptile-like scales, green feathers, rounded throat sac, swollen tail, and wing bones with disc-like structures at their tips are all faithfully reproduced. In addition to the highly organic gradient coloring across its entire body, the translucent eyes and supple tongue are particularly striking! Coupled with a realistic diorama base depicting hard rocks and lush green moss, the overall presence is greatly enhanced, conveying elements of the "Monster Hunter World" universe.
