Following the first release, RX-93 ν Gundam, the ultra-high-end die-cast model series 『METAL STRUCTURE』, issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., finally announced today the release of its latest and more evolved product, "Sazabi", after a three-year hiatus, scheduled for December 2022.
『METAL STRUCTURE』thoroughly re-analyzes fictional mobile suits from their appearance, design, performance, equipment, and other settings. It transforms imagination into reality through methods such as stereoscopic perspective sketches and detailed mechanical verification, and incorporates accumulated issues and analyses to derive unprecedented structures and design ideas. This culmination of numerous efforts is elevated into a brand-new product, utilizing thousands of parts made of die-cast alloy, ABS, POM, PVC, and etched parts to showcase ultimate craftsmanship. After three years of development, it now reaches a new pinnacle with "Sazabi".
The "METAL STRUCTURE Sazabi" boasts an impressive height of 43 cm, exquisite color painting, and LED light-up features in its head and cockpit. Constructed from over 3000 composite material parts, from the inside out, its frame, power lines, thrusters, various metal components, armor, and other elements all feature extremely precise structural designs, material differentiation, and part separation. This is not only to create ultra-high-density details reminiscent of real machinery but also to enable Sazabi's even more evolved deployment mechanisms.
The deployment mechanism design this time is even more elaborate than the previous ν Gundam. It can transform from "Normal Mode" into "High Mobility Mode," which deploys parts of the armor and fuel tanks for more efficient heat dissipation; "Cockpit Open Mode," which deploys more sections for general maintenance or development; and even "Grand Disassembly (Full Maintenance Mode)," which extensively deploys the exterior armor structure to reveal the internal frame. This showcases unique designs only seen in METAL STRUCTURE.
Regarding its armaments, the Beam Shot Rifle, Shield, Funnels, and Beam Tomahawk all feature distinctive deployment mechanisms. It also comes with a dedicated display base resembling a hangar interior, along with Char and maintenance crew figures. The base allows for adjustment of various mechanical arms and movable platforms, and its bottom searchlights also feature LED light-up devices, enabling the recreation of maintenance scenes in conjunction with the main unit's deployment mechanisms.
