Hong Kong model brand FLAME TOYS today officially announced the first product in its all-new transforming combining model series, "Go! Kara Kuri Combine," featuring the "Dino Megazord" from "Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger / Power Rangers," with official preview images. It is scheduled for release in July 2023.
The Dino Megazord is a colossal robot formed by the combination of five machines: Tyrannosaurus, Mastodon, Triceratops, Sabertooth Tiger, and Pterodactyl. In the American "Power Rangers" continuity, it is merely a standard machine powered by solar energy. However, in the original Japanese "Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger," it is a guardian deity with its own consciousness, capable of fighting independently without the Zyurangers' control and able to manifest various miraculous phenomena. Its weapon is the "Dinosaur Sword God Horn," which descends from the heavens, allowing it to unleash the powerful special move "Super Legendary Lightning Slash."
The design of the "Go! Kara Kuri Combine Dino Megazord" has been reinterpreted by FLAME TOYS, imbuing the original silhouette with a modern, slender physique and sharper armor lines. The most significant change is in the Pterodactyl's design, where not only are its wings dramatically enlarged, but the massive Dinosaur Sword is also integrated as part of its body.
The product includes five individual machines: Tyrannosaurus, Mastodon, Triceratops, Sabertooth Tiger, and Pterodactyl. Each machine is finished with rich colors and heavy metallic tones, boasting an outstandingly cool design and articulation. With flexible joint structures for the head, limbs, and tail, each individual unit can be posed dynamically.
The combining structure is largely consistent with the original, allowing the five machines to first combine into the imposing giant "Beast Tank Dino Tank" form, and then further transform and stand into the robot form, "Dino Megazord." The biggest departure from the original design is that the Pterodactyl's massive wings and the Tyrannosaurus's tail are not folded away but are instead prominently displayed on the back, adding more organic characteristics.
In its Dino Megazord form, standing approximately 24 cm tall, the entire body features alloy joint parts that provide a firm and substantial feel during handling. Flexible articulation is present in the neck, chest/waist, limbs, and wings. For a combining model, achieving such a high degree of kneeling pose is quite remarkable. In addition to wielding the cool Dinosaur Sword for battle poses, the two cannons originally fixed to the back now also feature a new mechanism allowing them to be used as dual guns.
