Japan's quesQ company (有限会社キューズＱ), which has released numerous anime and character toy products, will launch a 1/120 scale assembly model of one of the protagonist fighters from the classic high-difficulty shooting game 《R-TYPE》 series, the "Rwf-9Abk ARROW HEAD" Black Version. It is scheduled for release in September 2022.
Speaking of the side-scrolling shooter game 《R-TYPE》, many veteran players surely have fond memories. It was originally released by Irem in 1987 for arcades. Players control a uniquely designed fighter jet, the "R-9", skillfully maneuvering the external orb equipment "Force" to combat incoming enemies. In addition to attaching the Force to the front or rear of the fuselage as needed, players can also charge up and fire the Wave Cannon. Due to its extremely high difficulty, this title is also known as a "high-density tactical violent shooter game," making it very hardcore.
This "Rwf-9Abk "ARROW HEAD bk.ver"" released by quesQ originates from the 2005 PSP game 《R-TYPE TACTICS》. It is the black version of the series' protagonist machine, the "R-9", with the black color being due to a special coating. Its armaments are the same as the R-9. This product also faithfully recreates the 1/120 scale and includes the exclusive Standard Force and Round Bit sub-units, both with display stands.
