GUNDAM SIDE-F, the Mobile Suit Gundam themed facility in Fukuoka, Japan, which features the highly popular life-sized ν Gundam statue, recently announced that its latest store-exclusive limited product, the "MG 1/100 RX-93 ν Gundam Ver.Ka (Psycho-Frame Activation Color Scheme)," will be available for purchase starting August 6, 2022.
The RX-93 ν (Nu) Gundam is a custom mobile suit designed with the involvement of Amuro Ray, the Earth Federation Forces' Newtype ace pilot. After a three-month rush production by Anaheim Electronics, it participated in the Second Neo Zeon War initiated by Char Aznable in UC 0093. As a successor to the RX-78 Gundam series, the ν Gundam returned to the original design philosophy of simplicity, versatility, and durability, streamlining the mobile suit, discarding unnecessary mechanisms and heavy equipment. It features micro-thrusters throughout its body, incorporates "Psycho-Frame" technology, and is equipped with all-range attack "Fin Funnels," significantly enhancing the mobile suit's structural strength, mobility, and Amuro's Newtype abilities. In the climax of the film, Amuro resonated with the Psycho-Frame system, unleashing incredible power to prevent Axis from colliding with Earth.
This product is based on the highly acclaimed and popular 2012 kit, the "MG 1/100 RX-93 ν Gundam Ver.Ka," supervised by mechanical designer KOTOKI HAJIME. It was constructed using the most advanced parts separation technology of its time, boasting excellent cool styling, flexible articulation, and faithful recreation of its in-setting mechanisms. It also features an original partial armor-splitting gimmick, allowing parts of the armor to open and reveal the internal clear green molded Psycho-Frame.
The limited edition, inspired by the scene where the ν Gundam pushes back Axis with its Psycho-Frame activated at the end of the film, utilizes GLOSS INJECTION technology with glitter to replace the molding colors of each part, creating an appearance as if bathed in green light. Amuro's personal emblem display base and the Fin Funnel stands are also molded in glitter + clear green, resulting in a more cohesive color scheme when paired with the main body.
