Japanese veteran toy company KAIYODO, known for its "Animal Encyclopedia" series which meticulously reproduces animals and creatures in small, exquisite detail, has partnered with the renowned fishing tackle brand SHIMANO to launch the "SHIMANO × KAIYODO STRIKE FANTASY" blind box figures. There are four types in total, each with a suggested retail price of 3,850 JPY, scheduled for release in October 2022.
The "SHIMANO × KAIYODO STRIKE FANTASY" blind box figures are sculpted by KAIYODO's prototype artist Taro Murai, who has perfectly recreated the moment a fish is caught in a compact size of under 10 cm! Features such as vivid scales and gills are meticulously carved, and the small, exquisite fishing lures are, of course, a major highlight. The collection includes a Sea Bass leaping out of the water with splashing spray, its shimmering scales and bulging back muscles rendered with remarkable vitality; an Aori Ika (Bigfin Reef Squid), crafted from transparent material, with its dark mouth open, targeting the lure; a Cherry Salmon with vivid eyes fixed on the lure at its mouth; and a Largemouth Bass with its mouth wide open underwater, ready to take the bait!
