Following the release of Tomie and Souichi, the "JUNJI ITŌ COLLECTION" from British sculpting brand Animegami Studios recently unveiled its latest creation: the "Miss Fuchi" (Fuchi-san) 1/6 scale full body statue! Multiple versions, including EX, DX, Manga, and Combo editions, are being released simultaneously, with an estimated shipping date in Q4 2023.
Among the female characters created by horror manga master Junji Ito, "Fuchi" is one of the most uniquely terrifying figures, whose appearance alone evokes fear without needing much description. She has appeared in Souichi-themed stories such as "Rumors" and "Fashion Model." Her abnormally tall stature, extremely long face, mouth full of sharp teeth, and wild eyes make her incredibly frightening, even when she's cackling at a joke!
This three-dimensional rendition of "Fuchi" by Animegami Studios stands approximately 39.7 cm tall. The overall design is based on the story setting of "Fashion Model," recreating her pinkish-purple dress, slender arms, and an unforgettable, impactful face. Viewing her from the side further emphasizes Miss Fuchi's unusual facial contours. The base is designed to resemble a deep mountain environment, featuring green terrain and spreading tree roots. Beside Miss Fuchi are an 8mm camera, a toolbox, and the fashion magazine that could be considered the source of disaster. With interchangeable body parts stained with blood, revealing sharp teeth and a terrifying smile, the statue dramatically recreates her horrifying appearance after devouring the protagonist, Miss Morizue.
The DX version also includes an additional bust-style base, approximately 16 cm tall, featuring Fuchi in a black swimsuit, reminiscent of the scene in the "Rumors" chapter where she emerges from the pond.
The Manga version is presented in a black-and-white tonality that better showcases the charm of the original artwork's brushstrokes, while the Combo version includes all content from both the DX and Manga versions.
